February 24

Dane and I got this form in the mail today from the Pastor who will be performing our wedding in NY. We had to each fill out a packet of information about ourselves, our relationship, our future goals, our family life, and why we want to get married. This was the first question on one of the pages, and it really made me think. What is someone said no to this? I guess that might send off some red flags for the Pastor. Dane answered his very eloquently, of course.

I was asked last minute to come speak on a panel for the joint class of CSDC tonight. I didn't know some of my favorite people were going to be there! The panel consisted of myself, Tasha, Evans and Gina. Evans and Gina were both second years when I started the CSDC program and helped me through so much that first year. It was really fun and so good to catch up with everyone.

February 22

Dane took me out to Zaftig's for brunch this morning. I had chocolate french toast and it was amazing. Then, I spent most of the day at work doing Orientation Leader training. This is what the OC's did to the upstairs of the Campus Center for a team builder activities called Minefield. It was one of the funniest things I've seen so far at Lasell.

February 21

Tell me this is not the cutest picture. We went to Cabot's for lunch with Emily and Ben for lunch. Dane and I got a milkshake to share. It was so yummy. This might be my new favorite picture of us.

February 20

I really kept myself entertained tonight. I had a lot of energy for some reason, but no one else seemed to. So I made Dane wear a blanket and got this awesome picture. I have no idea what he's doing. Then, Dane went to get the cookies he brought over. After he brought them into the living room he got up for some reason. I used that opportunity to hide the cookies in one of the drawers in room. Then I made him do hot and cold until he found it. Except that took a while, because I kept giving him false readings. I had a great time, I dont' know if the same can be said for Dane.

February 19

This is my wallaby. He's from Australia and my P.I.C., Nino, got him for me after much searching. Apparently it's really hard to find a wallaby stuffed animal as opposed to a kangaroo. I brought him to work with me and now he's friends with my Husky statue.

February 18

I began working on my Project 365 album on Tuesday, and last night did some more. Now I'm almost done with the first four weeks. Dane asked me if he could take some pictures for the album after I showed him what I had done so far. I think I might have him do a week through his eyes, with all the journaling and design of the week up to him. It'll be a nice addition to the book.

February 17

The Dance Team performed at the Pink Zone game tonight. The men's basketball game was a night devoted to raising awareness about breast cancer. The team decided to make their own shirts for the game, so they got together and tie-dyed them all. They even made me one. Their new dance is to the song "Circus" by Britney Spears, and it was great. I'm always so impressed with their choreography and dedication.

February 16

Happy Birthday Daddy!

We drove back from NY today. When we got home we filled out Save the Date cards and stuffed most of the envelopes. Emily made a one-pot for dinner and Jeremy came over to hang out. After dinner while we watched Wheel of Fortune, Emily and Ben were play fighting. Mia doesn't like it when any of us touch or play. She gets all riled up. Here she is looking on with disapproval at Emily and Ben. I love this picture because of both of their faces.

February 15

My dad's birthday is February 16, but since it is a Monday this year and we will be heading back to MA, we had dinner for him on Sunday. We made a chicken, a steak, potatoes, veggies, stuffing, and rice. My mom overdoes it sometimes with the food. Jenna, Rich, and Abby came over for dinner, and Abby joined us at the table after we finished eating. She reaches for everything now, so we have to entertain her.
After dinner, we watched Madagascar 2 while Abby napped. Then we got ice cream from Friendly's. Jenna and Rich were going out to meet up with some friends, so we volunteered to watch Abby. She was great for the first half hour until she realized Jenna was gone. Then she started crying. I changed her diaper and fed her a bottle and she was asleep by 10:30pm. Such a good girl.

February 14

Happy Valentine's Day! Dane and I are not huge on this holiday, so we spent the day with Jenna, Abby, and my mom hanging out at the mall. Abby likes to take everything in, so the mall is a place full of bustling fun for her to watch.

After the mall, Dane and I went out to dinner with my parents at Boulder Creek. The wait was over an hour, but the steaks were delicious. Then we went to meet up with Heather and Shawn at Dave and Buster's since Melissa was working. After some drinks, we played games for a while. Heather and I decided to take on the Jurassic Park game. I absolutely love this game, but have never gotten very far in it. With the help of Melissa's employee card, we beat the game! It was a very exciting moment for me. Here we are, raising our guns in victory over the dinosaurs.

February 13

I got home from work today with enough time to take a really short nap before eating dinner and getting on the road to go home to NY. Dane switched with me to drive about halfway through the trip. The ride home wasn't too bad this time, besides on the L.I.E. where two exits were closed. The back up to get on the service road took about 45 minutes. Once we finally got through that mess, we met up with my parents at Applebee's and had some spinach and artichoke dip before heading home for bed.

February 12

I finally got our Save the Date magnets for the wedding today, and they were printed wrong. I was so disappointed. The last line is cut off on almost all of the magnets. I called Vistaprint, where we ordered from and they were helpful. The magnets have been fixed and re-ordered, but now I have to wait another 2 weeks for them! I'm getting very impatient.

To cheer me up, Dane gave he the Valentine's Day present he got me for me early. It's a picture frame penguin! It's the cutest thing ever. Just looking at it makes me feel happy. I have the most thoughtful fiance.

February 11

Tonight at Lasell we hosted Dr. Terrence Roberts. He came to speak about his experience as one of the Little Rock Nine, the group of black high school students who were the first to desegregate Central High School in Little Rock, Arkansas in 1957. He was a great speaker, and so down to earth! The students really connected with him, and was very gracious about staying after the presentation for questions and pictures. This is me with Dr. Roberts and one the students I work with, Rachel.

February 10

Dane was set on going to Circuit City tonight since it's going out of business and he's looking for a laptop. When we got there the entire place was almost cleaned out. There was not one computer or laptop. So, we decided to go browse through Best Buy and Target. At Target I found this line of kitchen accessories that I love. They're all shaped like different animals. These scissors reminded me of the story my mom used to tell us about the scissor bird. When we were little and my mom would get a haircut, she would always tell us that she got attacked by the mysterious scissor bird who would cut her hair and then fly off. Weird, I know. That's my family for you!

February 9

Somebody definitely had a case of the Mondays today. After work I went home and put my pajamas on. Dane came over after he got out of work, and we watched some more episodes of Lost. As you can see, Dane was already tired, even though all we did over the weekend was sleep!

February 8

Finally feeling better after getting a ton of sleep. Dane and I were feeling productive today so we went to Paper Source in Brookline to get some cards and envelopes to send out our Save the Dates for the wedding. Our little magnets should be arriving in the next week. After we picked out the paper and envelopes, we were looking around the store and Dane found the wall of stamps. We picked out one we liked so we could stamp each card and write a note on it to be enclosed with the magnets.

At home we stamped each cards and let them dry. Then we collected addresses and typed them all up so we can send out the cards as soon as we get the magnets. We are so crafty. I can't wait to get the magnets so we can send these out!

February 7

Another wonderful and lazy day! I had some trouble sleeping, so ended up going back to bed for a nap around 1:30pm. Dane joined me at some point after that and we ended up sleeping until 6pm. It was a really long nap!

Dane and I decided to go on a date after we woke up. We went to dinner at Applebee's (our place, according to Dane) and then walked around Target. Dane found this jack-in-a-box and did his best reenactment of the scene from Elf where Buddy has to test the toys. It was a big night for us after our very long nap.

I thought we'd have trouble going to sleep that night, but I was definitely wrong. We fell asleep around midnight but woke up at 9am. Another 9 hours. I think I must really have needed the rest.

February 6

Today was a sick day, so I could spend the day taking it easy. Nino came over after he was done with work for the day. We spent the night hanging out, watching Anchorman, and playing games. I love my partner in crime and I'm so happy we got to spend some quality time with him!

February 5

My roommate Leslie finally finished her nursing boards today. She's been studying for a very long time, and deserved a break. Dane suggest a shot, and Leslie was really happy for the offer, so we took a celebratory shot together. Cheers!

By the end of the night I think everything caught up to me, and I knew I wasn't going to make it through work the next day. I called in sick to my boss, and he told me to take it easy for the day. Early bedtime for me!

February 4

I got a picture of the Dance Team this time. Tonight they performed at the half-time of the women's basketball game. It was a late night for me, I went from the game, to their rehearsal, to the SGA funding meeting which didn't start until 9pm. I'm definitely feeling run down, and I know it's probably a matter of time before I get sick.

February 3

Today at work was the Winter Activities Fair. I've been working on this for a while now, and it's one of our larger events of the semester. My co-worker came up with the theme of Snowed In back in December, which we all loved. Little did they know we'd actually make it snow on the day of the event. We totally planned it.

477 people came through during the hour and a half event. I had 27 student organizations and 9 departments that set up tables. It was great!

February 2

No one is ever excited for Mondays, except for me on this particular Monday. Jeremy invited us all over for Wafflepalooza. A perfect end to a dull Monday. I was so excited for this, that on Friday I told Emily I couldn't wait until Monday and she screamed "Why?!" at me, until she realized that Monday meant waffle night. We ate a ton, and then went into a sugar coma, but someone just couldn't help themselves and grabbed another piece of waffle just as I took this picture.

February 1

Today was the Super Bowl with the Arizona Cardinals playing the Pittsburgh Steelers. No one really cared about the teams this year, but we did care about the dinner that Dane made. I was at orientation leader training for most of the day while Dane slaved away in front of the slow cooker making chili to eat while we watched the game. It was so good to come home too.

Emily and Ben went to Stop and Shop earlier in the day and got free 3-D glasses to watch some of the commercials with. Here Dane and I are doing our best 3-D glasses faces.
