August 23

After all the activities yesterday, today was a day to relax. I slept most of the morning and early afternoon. Then woke up when Dane got home from graduation at Wentworth, got our things together and headed to Sam and Jason's place. We went in the pool, I made lasagna for dinner, and we sewed some ugly pincushion doll things. Here's the beginnings of mine. He has no legs.

August 22

Today was the kickoff of my birthday celebrations. We went to the Sam Adams brewery, yet again, then to Bella Luna for dinner, then to Pour House for festivities. It was so fun. On the way back from Bella Luna, we stopped for some pictures near this fountain. It's right down the street from our apartment and usually has a ton of kids playing in it. But, we were the only ones there for some reason on Saturday.

August 21

Our first Friday back in the office this summer. I think it's safe to say we were lacking in motivation by the end of the day. My boss called us into his office for some beverages, and we happily obliged.

August 20

We went to Medieval Manor with Sam, Jason, Adrian and Corrine. They just kept bringing us beer! Which was not a problem really. Jason was the butt of just about every joke of the evening, and I got an audience with the king. That makes for a great night. They gave Jason a gigantic cup, which Adrian filled for him. I feel like this sums up the night.

August 19

After going out to dinner with some of Dane's coworkers, we stopped at the post office, which is conveniently located next to JP Lick's. It didn't take much convincing to get Dane to take me there. I think it went like this:

Me: Do you want some ice cream?
D: Ice cream? We just ate.
Me: Ok, then nevermind.
D: Ok, let's get some ice cream.

Dane had the slider sundae, which apparently was incredibly delicious from the looks of it.

This is the vent that the air conditioning comes from in my office. It's located directly above my head when I sit at my desk. We are friends and foes. When the AC was broken last week, all I wanted was for it to come back on. Then it was fixed, and now I'm freezing all the time. Just can't find that happy medium.

August 16

On the way back to Boston we stopped in NY to spend the day. It was hot out, but we didn't have our bathing suits, so we improvised. A pair of shorts and a tank top was all I needed and we hopped in the pool. Jenna brought Abby over, and she ran up to me and gave me a hug when she saw me, which of course made my day. Here's my cute little niece.

August 15

Today Dane's mom and grandma took me out for a day of shopping. This could not have been any better. Before we left, they gave me a $50 gift card, and told me they were going to take me to a fabric store. Do these ladies know me well or what? I think I bought my weight in fabric before heading to Speck's for some delicious fried chicken. I love this place. Not somewhere you should go frequently, but sometimes you just have to have some fried chicken. I got a side of mac and cheese. The perfect meal.

August 14

Today was Leilani and Kevin's wedding in PA. We got in late on Thursday night, and I slept until about 11am. Guess I was tired. On the way there, Sandie called and asked for help opening the door to the church when Leilani came in. I totally want to be a wedding coordinator now. Well, maybe.

Anyway, the boys got to have some time together. And they wasted no time partying it up (ahem, DANE). But you have to love them.

August 13

This is a custom bag I made for Laura, possibly our best customer (besides Dane's mom). I LOVE this fabric. My KS bought it for me when she was in Arkansas. I guess some good came out of that trip after all.

August 12

Today did not start out well. On my way to work my car started making some really awful noises. It was squeaking and squealing. Not at all what you want to here at 8am. So when I got to work I called the shop nearby, and they took it. New brakes were needed, and I was not happy to hear how much it would cost. This little bunny saved the day. When I saw it on campus it instantly made me happier. And it let me get close enough for a picture. Look at it's little white tail!

August 11

After a long day, Dane and I finally dug into this ice cream cake. He bought it for me about a week ago, at the beginning of my birthday month. I love Carvel ice cream cake. There's nothing better!

August 10

A big day for Sam and I! One of our items from our Etsy shop is now part of a giveaway on We Are Not Martha's blog. We absolutely love the blog, and are pumped to be getting more exposure for our shop.

But that's obviously not the picture I chose. We went to the Red Sox game tonight with Sam and Jason and had an amazing time! We had standing room tickets on the Green Monster and it was the best view. At the end of the evening we stayed and took photos with the awesome view in the background. We're making awful faces because I'm tickling Dane trying to get him to laugh.

August 9

Today Dane and I spent the day with our Nino. We went to see Harry Potter in IMAX and 3-D (just the beginning of the movie). It was so cool! I want to see everything in IMAX now. None of us knew that part of the movie was in 3-D, so when they handed us the glasses it was like an extra special bonus! Here are my two cool guys.

August 8

After going to a surprise party for one of Dane's co-workers, we headed to Scott's apartment and spent hours with him printing our invitations. They came out beautifully, and we are SO thankful for his talent and patience with us (well, mostly me). In the midst of all the printing and editing, we decided to take a break for dinner and head to the famous Eagle's Deli. Dane and I have seen this on the Food Network and Travel Channel countless times, and were so excited to finally eat there. It was very yummy and a welcome break in the night.

August 7

We went out to dinner this evening with Nino and some NU friends. My number one fan was there, Laura, who loves the shop and all the fun things that I make. I asked her to take a picture and if we could feature her on our blog. She said absolutely and was so excited. We love her too!

August 6

Tonight I went to a Gap jeans party hosted by a fellow blogger that I met at the Nintendo party. It was a great time! We tried on jeans, ate delicious food, enjoyed some great conversation, and had an over wonderful evening. I totally lucked out and ended up with 2 pairs of jeans AND a coupon for a third free pair!

August 5

I absolutely love this fabric and I think this wristlet came out so cute. I'm loving it. I want one of everything made from this fabric.

August 4

Another cute thing from one of our students. Over the summer, I talked to one of the orientation leaders about cupcakes after I went on the cupcake tour. We discussed my favorite kind of cupcake, and I asked him to draw it for me (he's a great artist, it's kind of graffiti-ish). He actually did! His roommate works in our office, so he brought it to work for me and now I have it hanging on my bulletin board.

August 3

Back to work today. I actually missed the people in some ways. There are so many little things at my job that make it worth every extra hour and late night. I walked into the hallway and saw this, and love that we have nicknames from our students.

August 2

This is my last day off from work. I'm really bummed but also ready to go back and start working on all the events and projects that will be coming up in the fall semester. Dane and I spent the day just relaxing and doing errands. We like to joke that he's old, and he helped with that joke by looking at prune juice in the supermarket. He wanted to know what was supposedly so good for you in it, but of course, it makes him live up to his old age.

August 1

Today was Adrian's birthday. The big 3-0. We went over to their apartment with Jason and Sam to celebrate with everyone. Sam and Jason brought over frosting shots from Sweet, which was a great idea. I never would have thought tiny shots of frosting could be so fun. The best part of the night had to be when the doorbell rang, and this guy walked in that no one knew. He was clearly really drunk/stoned/combination of the two. He just kind of looked at all of us and said "What's up?" and Adrian asked who he was looking for. The guy finally realized he was in the wrong house and just turned around and walked out. We couldn't stop laughing. This is Sam and I right after he left.

July 31

We decided to go out tonight because Sam's sister, Erin, was in town and she'd never been out in Boston before. Dane suggested O'Leary's because we haven't been there in a while. It was a good choice. We all had a great time hanging out. Here we are enjoying some Soco lime shots.

July 30

I think it's safe to say that I'm in love with this bag. I am so happy with the way it came out. I used a reverse applique and a regular applique to create the front. It took hours, but I think the results were well worth the time!

July 29

My favorite part of sewing is when I spin my bobbin. Minimal effort, fun results.

July 28

I sewed all day, then decided to work on my Project 365 album in the evening. Dane and I watched Warehouse 13, and he fell asleep around 9:45pm. He was really tired, so I woke him up and put him to bed, then finished watching the show and stayed up for The Cleaner, one of my new favorites. Here's some of the progress I made.

It won't let me turn it the right way. What's the deal Blogger?

July 27

With the leftover bit of table runner that I had from IKEA, I made this little bag for our Etsy shop. It came out really cute. Who knew a $2 table runner could bring so much joy? In ways that weren't even intended.

July 26

I really hate our couch. With a passion. So today after going to brunch with Dane, I somehow managed to convince him that we should go to IKEA and buy a new one. Ben and Nino came to help him put it together, while I cooked up some Swedish meatballs for everyone. I love our new couch!
