June 18

This is one of those things that just keeps you going. I came into work today and my boss had left a package of Reese's Peanut Butter Cups on my chair. It made me really happy. I put one right in my bag to enjoy later in the day.

June 17

On their day off, we took the OLs to Friendly's for dinner. The hostess was nice enough to give us crayons and kids menus for them to color on. On the back of the menu there was this picture and we really thought we had to find all the items on top in the picture on the bottom. About 4 of us spent a long time staring at this picture until we realized the items are not in it, but in other places on the menu.

June 16

I've been an awful plant mom lately. I've been neglecting them terribly. I need to replant my basil into a bigger pot and I keep forgetting to water them. Somehow my gerbera daisies are still alive and I've had them since April. That must be a new record for me.

June 15

This was from yesterday, but I just really like this picture of Dane. He loves bookstores and was browsing through when I took this sneaky shot of him.

June 14

Before heading back into work for the evening, Dane and I went to Fire and Ice for brunch and then browsed around Borders on Boylston Street. It was really relaxing and good to spend time with each other after being so busy for the past week. We went over by Trinity church to look at this little garden and this nice English man was nice enough to take this picture for us.

June 13

Cupcake Tour day! We went to 5 places around Boston and had some of the best cupcakes ever. This was my favorite place of the day, Sweet. Their frosting was amazing and they had some really fun flavors for their cupcakes.

June 12

After getting home at 9pm from OL training, Nino called to see if we wanted to meet up with him and some friends at Jillian's. We decided to go out for a bit to see everyone and unwind. I was really happy to see some of the first years (well they were first years when I was a second year in my graduate program, now they've graduated too so I should definitely figure out something different to call them) and catch up on how things are going for everyone.

June 11

Again, I pretty much worked all day so I'd rather remember cupcakes. I feel like I have tons of pictures of Dane and I eating. What can I say, we both love food. This was at Lulu's in the North End. Here we had the Carrot Cake cupcake, and again it was a very good choice.

June 10

I don't have much that's interesting from today, so I'm opting to include extra pictures from the Cupcake Tour. This is the magnificent case at Party Favors in Brookline. Dane and I tried the Boston Creme cupcake for our first one of the day, it was delicious.

June 9

More time with the Orientation Leaders today. We practiced the welcome for new students. Here they are on stage introducing themselves.

June 8

My little car is getting old! She hit 100,000 miles today. I actually pulled over to the side of the road so I could snap this picture before the odometer changed.

June 7

As part of OL training we volunteered at the AIDS Walk in Boston. We helped to run a checkpoint for all the walkers and had a great time. These are the first t-shirts we got, before they realized they gave us the wrong ones and gave us more boring white shirts. These say "Obey Me" which we all kind of thought was funny.

June 6

We began the first day of a marathon month for orientation. Orientation Leader training began with a trip to Hale Reservation and a ropes course. We did a bunch of activities on the grounds, then some low ropes, a catwalk element that was 20 feet in the air, and the swing. For the swing we got harnessed in, attached to another rope, then everyone pulled you up as high as you wanted to go. When you got up, you pulled a rip cord and went swinging through the forest. It was amazing and so much fun!

June 5

I've realized that I love seeing little things like this. I saw this dew on a leaf and thought it looked really pretty. I took it at Hale Reservation (technically on Saturday but I really liked this picture!).

June 4

The Orientation Coordinators are back to work! This is Andrew sitting in a plastic bin in front of my door. I guess this was a good way to work for him. We had a meeting while he was sitting here.

June 3

The Orientation Leaders aren't back until Friday, but some are still on campus and come to visit us. Mike got a little creative and drew on our white board, and we have some lovely messages from them on there too.

June 2

I've been sewing again! I made a wristlet this time. It was the first thing I've tried that has a zipper and it wasn't as hard as I thought it would be. The tutorials I've found online have been amazing to follow and probably the only reason I've been able to figure out how to make anything so far. I love the fabric I used for this one.

June 1

Dane, Jason, Sam, and I went to the movies to see UP in 3-D. We loved the movie and it was really cool to see it in 3-D. After it was over we waited for the theater to clear and then used Sam's nifty bendable tripod to get some pictures in our 3-D glasses.

May 31

We drove back to Boston today, taking Steve with us. On the way home we decided to stop at Cabot's since it was Steve's birthday. Since it was really crowded we sat at the counter and I ended up sitting next to Mrs. Cabot! She had a strawberry ice cream cone with one scoop. I bet she's tried everything there.

May 30

Today was Sandie and Derek's wedding. It was absolutely beautiful. We had a great time with everyone and got to enjoy the evening with our friends.

May 29

We went down to Philly today for the weekend. The first thing we did was go see Paige, Billy and Jesse Oliver. He is so big! I can't believe how different he looks from when we saw him at the end of March. He's talking now and says mama and dada. It's adorable.

May 28

I got crafty again tonight and made some clips for my hair out of fake flowers, clips, and little rhinestones. I saw something just like this on Etsy and thought I could totally make them myself. I was right! They came out really cute.

May 27

We went over to Jeremy's house tonight for a make your own salad dinner. I love when he has us all over. He is such a great host. I took this picture of his library. This is just a small corner of the room. He's the only person I know that has an actual library in his apartment (organized by the Library of Congress system, not the Dewey Decimal system).

May 26

I just need to throw another picture of Abby in here because she's so adorable! This was from Friday night at Applebee's while we were waiting to be seated. She found a bike and ended up with dirt all over her hands. But how cute is she?
