Dane and I met Scott and Becca for dessert tonight at J.P. Lick's in Coolidge Corner. The place was busy, as always, so Scott decided to sit and and save us a table so we could eat our ice cream. Since he was at a table, he decided to give me his order via text message. Here's our exchange. I tried some of his white coffee ice cream, by the way. It's so good! I had Chocolate Chip Cookie Dough and Dane tried Peanut Beckett and Jelly.

Today I went to the CSDA Awards Brunch to recieve the Distinguished Alumni Award. It was really nice to go back and see the second year students and the first year students that I helped admit to the program. I got my award and delivered the Alumni Keynote address. I'm not sure how I did, but okay I hope. Afterwards, they were going to get rid of these flowers, so I took them home. Dane took this picture of me with them. I love it.

April 25
Last day of Spring Fest! Spring Carnival was today and the weather was beautiful! It was in the 80's and sunny all day. I helped out with set up, but then just got to hang out and enjoy the day with Dane. We ate snowcones and popcorn, enjoyed a barbeque, judged a karaoke contest, and got airbrush tattoos. Here are our tattoo selections.

I brought Dane to work with me tonight for Super Bingo! Bingo is HUGE at Lasell and sometimes I really wish I wasn't a staff member so I could play for some prizes. The student group that runs the event is very self sufficient, so we just got to sit back and watch everyone get mad at each other when someone won a good prize. I found this flower on the stage and decided Dane would look pretty with it. I was right.

Spring Fest week is here! That means I'm working every night at a different event. We had a drag performance troupe, All the Kings Men, come to campus tonight. They did a great show and the studens loved it. It was kind of hard to take pictures in the dark auditorium, but this one came out fairly well. The performers were drag kings and did little skit/performance things. My favorite by far was their rendition of NSync's song "Bye, bye, bye".

Today was Marathon Monday in Boston. We had off from work for Patriot's Day, a holiday only in Massachusetts. Nino, Dane and I volunteered at the Boston Marathon at 5:30am in Boston Common. We loaded 20,000 marathon runners onto buses that would take them out to Hopkinton and the starting line of the race. I met some really fun people, and even had my picture taken with a group from Germany! I can't wait to do it again next year for round three!

It's here! Moving day! We actually moved the date up a bit because I have to work all next weekend and was getting a little stressed about finding time to do everything. Since we were both totally free this weekend, we decided to move everything. The new place is awesome! I'm so excited to be living with Dane!
This picture is the second attempt at getting the couch up the stairs. First Dane and Jason tried the front stairs. That did not work, so they used the back stairs and after some twisting and pushing, the couch made it into our living room. As you can see, I was a huge help.

This picture makes me want to quit my job and go into food photography. We had the annual awards banquet today, and while I could post a photo of my wonderful students accepting awards, I choose to show this instead. Let me tell you, that cake was even better than it looks, and I love this picture. This should totally be on a catering website.

I saw this van on my way to work today. I am not a fan of the bumper sticker. I don't see a reason why people feel the need to share their political affiliation, favorite band, or bad sense of humor on the bumper of their car. I have to give this person some recognition though, they were not messing around here. They were clearly very committed to the bumper sticker. Good for them.

We decided to go do some sightseeing on Sunday before Heather had to take off for home. We went to Fanueil Hall and then the North End for a pizza lunch. We stopped at Mike's for some cannolis, visited Old North Church, then stopped by the Boston Stone. I have no idea what the Boston Stone actually is, but here's Heather and I with it.
Update: Here's a great link that gives the history of the Boston Stone, in case you were wondering. I know I was!

My best friend from high school came to visit this weekend! It was so good to spend some quality time with her. It has been far too long. She got here Friday afternoon and spent it with me at work. Then on Saturday we took her to the Sam Adams Brewery (quickly becoming the default location we take out of town friends to when they visit) and made dinner at home. We play Cranium, and Emily got a little crafty with the clay so she decided to make some bunnies. Heather and I won (naturally) and our prize was that we got to squish them. This is us pre-squish.

I started reviewing papers the students in my leadership class wrote to me and hand in yesterday, when I realized that one of them put Professor Gallo on her paper. This made my day. Maybe one day I will be an actual professor, but until then it was nice to see it on paper. (and it won't let me flip it the right way, so you'll have to look at it sideways, sorry!)

Today was a really busy day for me. I was at work all day, then we the Becca's celebration for her last day working at Northeastern, then back to work for a dance until midnight. I did get to spend a little time relaxing and had some sangria at the Cactus Club before heading back in to work. Here's Becca and I.

Mia likes to rip up our junk mail. This wasn't junk mail, but our old roommate's mail that she has not come to pick up yet. She hasn't forwarded her mail to her new address either, so we keep getting things for her. We thought maybe Mia should just shred it for her. We didn't actually let Mia eat her mail, don't worry.

Today one of the yearbook companies that wants to work with Lasell brought me flowers, I'm assuming as a way to try and make me like them more. I thought this was actually a little strange, and I don't want to use the company anymore than I did before. But the flowers were really pretty, so now I can have them on my desk.

Dane and I had a nice lazy day today. We went to see Monsters vs. Aliens at the movie theatre near Fenway. It was cute, but not as good as Finding Nemo or Monsters Inc. in my opinion. We made pasta and sauce for dinner to prepare for our 5k walk tomorrow. Then we make some smoothies and added some tequila for a nice kick. Finally a nice relaxing weekend.

Here's Dane holding his favorite food court food, Orange Chicken from Panda Express. We went out for dinner tonight to the food court at the Prudential Center. I had my favorite food, Chicken Teriyaki from Sarku Japan. Not fancy, but every once in a while you just need to have some greasy food court food.

March 31st
So for my final picture (surprise, surprise) it is a picture of Jesse Oliver. This is a great picture because it shows his powty face that he makes sometimes. He is a little ham and likes to fool people into paying attention to him. Those chubby cheeks add to his pretending to be pathetic act. Once you start paying attention to him he just smiles and laughs again. He is going to be quite the ladies man if he keeps this act up. So thus endeth my postings for Project 365, for now. I had fun taking pictures of my daily life and sharing them. I look forward to adding more pictures and comments during this year.
March 30th
Here is a nice group shot of everyone that went to the zoo. From left to right we have me, Dave, my mom, Kristen, a bear, Jesse, Billy, and my sister Paige. This was a special trip to the zoo since it was for my mom's birthday. We also took her out that night to a nice Italian restaurant. My sister and I played a little joke and said that Kristen and I were going to stay over my sister's place for that night. So then myself, Kristen, my sister, Billy and Jesse left to go to the restaurant early so we could surprise my mom. Dave said that she got upset but he was able to convince her to go to dinner with him and then he took her to where we were. In the end it was a nice surpirse for her.
March 29th
The other favorite animal for Kristen and me are the meerkats. At the Philadelphia zoo, they had the best meerkat exhibit since there was no glass between you and them and you could just lean over the railing and be within inches of them. Here is a picture taken really close to the meerkats from above. As you can see, one of them is sleeping and the other one is on the lookout. They are the cutest animals ever!
March 28th
My mom's favorite animal from the zoo was the polar bear. Below him is a big tank of water which unfortunately we didn't get to see him jump into and swim around in. Kristen likes the way I say polar ber since there is a funny part from the show Creature Comforts when a kid says, "No polar bear? How can it be a zoo if there is no polar bear?"
March 27th
One of my favorite animals to see at any zoo are the primates. Here is a gorilla that was sitting up and looking at everyone who was looking at him. He was really cool since he was just so calm and observing the people around him. It was like he was thinking, "I wonder if these people know how silly they look." I love how you can see many similarities between primates and us. If I could choose another profession, I would love to work with and study the behavior of these animals.
March 26th
Here is a picture of me and my lovely fiance Kristen. We are just outside the reptile house at the Philadelphia zoo. I believe that is some sort of dinosaur behind us. Zoos are one of our favorite things to visit and by far the Philadelphia zoo was definitely one of our favorites. One of the coolest animals inside the reptile house was a huge alligator turtle. It had a cool sharp shell and had a head like an alligator. They also had many big snakes which remined me of the scene from the first Harry Potter movie (Thankssssss).
March 25th
Here is a picture of me holding Jesse when we took our mom to the zoo for her birthday. Look at those cheeks! Again he was just the best kid ever- he was looking at the animals and was very well-behaved for a six-month old. He is already up to 19 pounds so carrying him was not an easy thing. I think he is going to be a linebacker for Penn State (then I could get free tickets to the games!).
March 24th
Another picture of Jesse Oliver. Here we are engaged in a classic staredown (I think he won since I blinked first). If I may say so myself, Jesse is one of the best kids I have seen since he is typically quiet and doesn't cry that much. He is like his uncle (me) and just likes to look around and take in the world around him. Maybe this picture is foreshadowing his future (I would love if he went to Penn State!).
March 23rd
So for my final 9 days of the Project 365 postings for the month of March, I decided to use pictures taken when Kristen and I went to my home for my mom's birthday. This picture is of my nephew and godson Jesse Oliver Quigley (he will show up in more pictures since he is just soooo cute!). Here it looks like he is posing since he has his arm behind his head. And who can ignore those chubby cheeks! He is the cutest little man and I can't wait for our wedding since he will be the ring bearer (who knows what he'll do!).
